NO EARLY STARTERS - AID WILL BE ON THE COURSE FOR AT LEAST 6 HOURS (8 HOUR MARATHON PACE).

Note: I have to limit this race to a total of 100 runners - so let me know if you want in ASAP.

We said we would never forget, and a decade later we still remember 9/11. This year marked the 10th anniversary of 9/11 - let us honor the lives lost by supporting a local foundation, cause or organization.

Course (Basics)

Start and finish will be at the Green River Marathon start location.

GPS Starting Location: S. 259th and 74th Avenue S. Kent WA 98032 (Foster Park):

Getting to the start:

Highway 167 - Kent, WA - Take the Willis Street exit in Kent. This is the exit North of 277th and South of 84th street. Drive east to the first road on the right, which leads South. This is BEFORE the railroad crossing and next to the SHELL gas station. Drive South for about one half mile. Road will curve to left (East) and continue to a gravel parking lot next to the railroad tracks.

1/2 marathon will be out and back ( ~ 6.6 miles South on the Interurban Trail and finish where you started). Full will continue with another out and back on the Green River Trail ( ~ 6.6 miles to about (Behind Boeing) and finish where you started).

Map of the second half

Aid stations will be at the turn a rounds ~(6.55, 13.1 and 19.65 miles) and will have water and Gatorade. No cups - you need to carry a water bottle.

If you want to volunteer let me know and I will put you to work.

There are no bathrooms at the start, but there will be bathrooms about every two miles along the run. The above mentioned SHELL gas station is the closest bathroom and it also has some of the cheapest gas in the area.

Green River trail still has sand bags on the trail, but is runnable - runners should be thinned out by here. Marathon is Not Boston certified - runners may have to yield a little to others, but I feel it is doable. This may be a community service project for my daughter's school.(?) ALL the donations collected would go to a charity - Food Bank or North West Harvest etc.

Exact turn a rounds are lined up I will update this site updates, confirmations and additional information as needed.

More later.
