UPDATE 02/15/19 @12:30 PM

GREEN RIVER HALF MARATHON IS CANCELED FOR 2019. TOO DIFFICULT TO POSTPONE AND RESCHEDULE AGAIN.

We just want everyone to remain safe and to stay injury free.

The course is packed with snow and ice going into and out of Fort Dent, thru Fort Dent and also going under 405 is snow packed and slippery. Yesterday (Friday noon) the course was packed with snow and ice from the start to thru and out of Fort Dent under 405 to Centennial Park (about 2.7 miles). Plus isolated spots all the way to the turn around. I was hoping the rain, which started around 2:00 PM yesterday, would have rained hard enough to clean things up. It did not. Keep checking Race Website and on Facebook for updates.

UPDATE 02/07/19 @9:30 AM

Green River Half Marathon is postponed one week until 02/16/19 due to the predicted winter storm. Heavy snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches possible. Windy conditions will develop late Friday night into Saturday with north winds 20 to 25 mph. Temperatures late Friday night through Saturday will fall through the 20's. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Stay safe and enjoy the wintry weather! Keep checking Race Website and on Facebook for updates.

UPDATE 02/06/19 @3:15 PM

The course is in pretty good shape. The path going into, thru and out of Fort Dent is covered with snow, but it can be used. If no snow storm comes we will be ready for this Saturday 02/09/19. If a storm moves in on Friday, we may postpone the race one week until 02/16/19 or might just cancel all together. Keep checking here and on Facebook for updates.

UPDATE 02/05/19 @5:45 PM

I am going to go check the course out tomorrow. I will post another update here and on Facebook Wednesday afternoon. I will probably keep updating as needed. If a storm has moved in on Friday, we will probably cancel. If it is predicted to come in on Saturday, we will consider canceling also. Just keep checking here and on Facebook for updates.

Green River Half Marathon and all volunteers are not responsible for any injuries or deaths. The Green River Half Marathon is a free run; the aid is free, the run is free, there are no bib numbers, there are no awards, and no one is paid. This is a low key run amongst friends. If you require special assistance or are unsure of your abilities please think twice about running 13.1 miles and take necessary precautions. You must have medical clearance from your doctor before you begin any exercise program or running in any half marathons. It is not our intent for anyone to get hurt while running the Green River Half Marathon.
